Mission Statement The mission of Second Harvest is to end hunger and malnutrition by educating and involving the community.
Volunteer Duties The Calfresh section of the Second Harvest Food Bank offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities for anyone interested in education, public policy, social justice, and/or ending hunger. Calfresh volunteers have the opportunity to do anything from outreach and education, to tabling and helping to influence public policy by speaking at city council meetings. There are also many one day, or event volunteer opportunities. Specifically, Calfresh needs help with tabling National Hunger Month events during September, planning, cooking and registration for the Calfresh Forum during May. There is also a day long event called the California Action Coalition Rally in Sacramento which helps influence policy to help hunger in the California Area. All programs require training. Contact Joel for more information on how to get involved
